Boozer Injured!

January 29, 2007

now this is way fu*k!ng bad! just 1 day after Kirilenko went out with a sprain foot, Carlos Boozer followed with a bruised left knee, if you guys can remember Boozer single handedly destroyed the past 2 seasons of the Utah Jazz bec of his hamstring injury, well he's back boys and girls, tearing up the hearts of Jazz fans everywhere. with AK and Booze out, Milsap and Brewer need to step up big time. if Slone only have a player incubator so that he can make them mature faster believe me he would do it. its such a waste bec Booze is playing the best basketball of his career and Utah is on top of the standings because of his consistent power plays.

if utah is going to make the playoffs (now the "if" word is out g0ddm!) Boozer and Kirilenko are badly needed.

Kirilenko out with sprain ankle (again)

January 28, 2007

for the second time this season AK47 suffered a sprain on his right ankle in last nights game vs the Denver Nuggets. (last time was Nov 11 @ Milwaukee) the jazz got really lucky on this one bec 2 rookies steped up their game big time. DD's boy Ronnie Brewer scored six of his 12 points in the fourth and Paul Millsap added two blocks in the final period to help the jazz stop the high profile combination of Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony.

romeo expect these players (including my boy Harpring) to get alot of minutes bec of what happened to AK. this is bad bec Andrei is starting to get his game back after starting slow this season. All-Star weekend is comming, so that should give him enough resting time to be 100% by the start of the half season. rest AK REST!!! we need you bro!

Beckham Joins L.A. Galaxy!

January 13, 2007

It was confirmed on 11 January 2007 that David Beckham will be leaving Real Madrid and will be joining MLS team Los Angeles Galaxy on a 5 year deal. Beckham said: "This week Real asked me to make a decision regarding their offer to extend my contract. After considering several options to stay in Madrid or join other major British and European teams, I have decided to join L.A. Galaxy."

The Galaxy, citing industry experts, said Beckham's deal is worth more than $250 million in salary and commercial endorsements and is "thought to be the biggest in sporting history." This includes a $50 million USD ($10 million USD per year) salary, retention of existing sponsorship contract rights estimated to be worth $25 million USD, merchandising sales, and share of the club profits. This will make Beckham set to become the first modern footballer in history to have a stake in the football club he plays for - and share in its profits. -London (AP) / Wiki

(this is very good for U.S. Football, the publicity and the exposure that they are going to get will generate interest not just internationaly but with american audience as well. this deal will also open doors for other big time football players to sign w/ MLS, the league recently changed its rules on salary caps, making way for Beckham to sign the lucrative deal and become the first player to be signed under the new rule.)

Jackass 2 CRAZY!

January 9, 2007

ive just watched jackass 2 last night and i can honestly say, that ive officialy had my best laugh this year. this movie is way better than the first one, more dangerous stunts, more sh!t ass moments and blood… lots and lots of blood.

knoxville is insane, wrestling anacondas (which he was bitten several times) and running with bulls. this movie is absolutely crazy. i love the scene when knoxville almost got himself killed after a bull ran over him while he was blind folded, the guy literally flew in the air after the bull hit him in the balls.

another crazy scene was when ryan dunn branded bam margera with a penis-shaped iron in his ass, the reaction of bams mom after this incident was priceless.

i truly recommend this movie to everybody hahaha.

Utah Jazz: Starter Review

January 7, 2007

Being a Utah Jazz fan in the Philippines is a drag. games are rarely shown on tv, you can see sports article regarding the jazz once in a blue moon, you go to malls and look at sports establishments and not even one single nba item with jazz logo in it. the jazz is a good team, good franchise, good players… whats wrong with you people!!

its a big surprise to everybody (including me) about the jazz fast start in the still on going nba season. they started the season with a 4-0 mark and surprised everyone when they defeated post season favorites houston rockets and san antonio spurs. the jazz is now 23-10 4th in the western conference and 1st in the northwest division.

its a good start… but the main question is will it last? will they continue surprising people when playoffs arive? or the most dreaded question to every jazz fan… can they stay healthy?

lets analize the 5 starters on the jazz roster this year:

 (C) Mehmet Okur
Memo is often called the poor-mans Dirk Nowitzki. he can pretty much do all dirk can do but just a little slower. while i personaly love memo, i have to agree to that. he's a good spot up shooter can rack up 3's on a regular basis, can post up any player in the leage and he's a good rebounder. the only problem with memo is his quickness. he doesnt have a quick release, it would usually take him 1-2 secs before he fires up a 3 ball… now that is bad when your the 1st or 2nd option on your teams offense. opposing players can run towards you, block or distract you given that huge time frame. its a good thing that the jazz play system gives him enough space for him to set up those shots. the brightest spot on memo's game though is his clutch play. several game winning shots are included in this turkish snipers resume.

 (PF) Carlos Boozer
Booze is the biggest surprise not just in the jazz season but for the whole nba this year. avaraging 21.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game, this double double monster is arguably the main reason why the jazz are in the tops of the nba rankings this year. the main concern about boozer is his health, he played just 84 games for the past 2 seasons bec of countless hamstring injury. if booze can continue his health streak the jazz can go all the way.

 (SF) Andrei Kirilenko
AK47 is the lone bright spot on the jazz defense this season. this long armed russian moves well w/o the ball and usually get his block shots on the weak side or on opposing teams fast break plays. he can also knock off open jumpers and is a good inside player as well. this guy is a freak and i mean that in a good way, long arms and good jumping abilty is what makes him one of the best off ball defender in the "history" of the nba.

 (PG) Deron Williams
this sophomore player from Ilinois University have certainly stepped out of Cris Pauls shadow this season. some fans were disappointed (including myself) that the jazz picked D-Will over CP3, stating that its the dumbest move the jazz organization has ever made in the history of the franchise… boy did williams proved them wrong. averaging 16.5 points and 9.5 assist per game, williams is the operator of the jazz offense. whether he will drive then dish to an open okur for 3, hit jumpers off of a screen from AK or reliving a Stock to Malone moment with boozer, this guy can do it all… and the most scary part, D-Will is only 21 yrs old, he's still improving.

  (SG) ???
this is bad… the jazz doesnt have a legit player to cover this spot this season, as i recall vs the Lakers, Mamba actually dropped 52 points against the jazz that night, then Redd fired 57 vs the Bucks and just last night T-Mac scored 44 points in a blow out against Houston. all of these comming from a guy from the shooting guard position. the jazz really cannot defend this position really well, AK can only cover much but we need a legit player that can stop bigtime scorers like them. right now Derek Fisher is the designated starter for this spot, he's an undersized guard with good range and a championship caliber exp. though fish is always having a hard time defending taller guards bec of his size and his slow movement speed, he makes up for it with his physical play that suits well with Jerry Sloans defensive system. Ronnie Brewer the "i-sprain-my-foot-while-walking" rookie can potentialy cover this spot, he's quick on screens and is very athletic as well. he's still a young guy though… lets just hope he's not a late bloomer.

New Years Revolution!

January 6, 2007

new year's resolution and plans:

1. blog on a regular basis
2. lose my fuck!ng weight
3. read a book
4. change career
5. save money
6. change image from "funny and gullible" to "funny, dark and edgy"
7. cut my playing time for online games
8. go back to my roots in terms music
9. go to church atleast once a week
10. maintain my "semi-kalbo" hair style for the entire year!

losing weight is very important for me this year simply bec of my upcoming change of career, when i started to work at a call center, things became slow… really slow…. im sitting all night, sleeping all day… even on my day off im still either sitting or sleeping. when i wake up during my days off ill go get some food and will eat it in front of the tv, and when i do feel like going out ill just go to my friends house and either watch dvd with my peepz or play computer games (both require sitting down). dude im sick and tired of sitting down! i gained like 40pounds since i worked on a call center. been doing boxing with my buddy DD but right after we train, we always go to SM north and eat huge lunch… so lets just say the 4 pounds of sweat and sh!t that we shead during the training hours, is being returned x2 with pure beef, chicken and soda! (info: i actually have a treadmill at my place bought that february of 2006… its been brand new eversince)

i already bought a book to start my reading seasion. Diablo: Birthright. its the prequel of the famous rpg game from Blizard Ent. titled Diablo. ive played and finished the game itself several times so i thinking that if im going to read a book, it might as well be something that i will potentialy enjoy alot. (info: so far im in the 5th page and its been great… ill write a book review after im done)

changing my career is something, that i MUST do in order to survive this year… phyisicaly, emotionaly and mentaly. im thinking of entering the media industry, i have a freaking degree for this, graduated mass communication: major in broadcasting. while my talking skills are being used here in my call center stint (alot)… its simply not enough for me as a person to be doing "just" this… i mean somethings missing. i miss the production, i miss the exitement… i miss the fun… its not fun anymore. i really have to switch, it may not be healty financialy (keep telling my self its not about the money… but who am i kidding hehehe) but like i said in order for me not to slit my own throat or drive my motorcycle into a brick wall (for added drama) i REALLY have to switch job. (info: as per Kurt "im stupid i left WWE for TNA" Angle —only those who are bold enough to chase their dreams, are the ones getting it)

save money is very important im like a zombie walking around. no purpose… my money is either being spent to foods or gimick related events. food trip with my office friends, bar hopping with C.O.G. or shop hopping with my peepz (shop hopping is where you go to diff computer shops to play games… i know its lame) this is all i do with my money… oks so there is the ocasional bigay sa bahay or bayad sa motor, but is that it?? there is got to be more to life than this.

the image change is a constant thing for me, this year i want to be more respectable. respectable not in a boring kind of way… slight respectable lang :P

my playing time dominate my off time and even my office time… as we speak im playing Knight Fight an online web broser type game check my character out: http://www.knightfight.co.uk/?ac=vid&vid=63012576

anyway… this is the main reason why i dont have money to buy some more impt stuff like clothes, shampoo, hygiene materials etc. hehehe. lagi kong kinukuha ung sa nanay at tatay ko that is why they're always saying im buraot… which is true. you know as i see it, we are all addict whether its drugs, booze, sports or sex… people need to do what they have to do. im my case its computer games. (info: about what i said bout cutting my playing time… disregard that)

lets see… the last time i actually bought a cd was… w8 i never bought a cd… ever. the last time i bought something music related was a cassette tape… dude kaset! sobrang tagal na nun! i cant even remember the last time i listened to a radio station. so its also one of my plans to go back to my music roots. pop/rock genre. (info: im into the whole pop thing before… now i dont know what's pop and what's not)

spiritualy i need this one… enough said. (whats up bro Jess… im back! 5 all the way)

this is something to signify the new image and the new me. the revolution will happen the change will happen! … i hope… :P
